Serve OKC (Incoming 6th-Graduated 12th Grade): This three-day local service week is a great opportunity for our students to serve in their own backyard. Some of the places we serve are at the Food Bank, Cross & Crown, Feed The Children, Special Care, Refuge, Angels, The Salvation Army/Boys & Girls Club of OKC, Boys & Girls Club of Oklahoma County, City Rescue Mission, Luther Service Center, Wings, Lilyfield, Capitol Hill CofC, Water4, Capitol Hill Elementary, Orvis Risner Elementary and Autism Oklahoma. Many surrounding youth groups join us for this week of service which creates new opportunities for friendships and for relationships to grow. In the mornings, we start off the day with a time of worship and a lesson. Afterwards we head to work sites with groups of 10-15 students and adult sponsors. We bring sack lunches and eat at the work sites. Around 1:00PM-1:30PM we head toward our afternoon activity! In years past we went to Elevation, Artic Edge (Ice Skating), the Zoo and then we usually rent an inflatable or mechanical bull for Wednesday afternoon. Wednesday evening, we have a guest speaker and worship leader come in to close out Serve OKC along with a fun slide show of the week.
